Dublin, 18th February 2026: Cubic3 today announced it has joined the Board of the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), strengthening its role in driving technology innovation for software-defined vehicles alongside the world’s leading automakers.

Cubic3’s appointment to the 5GAA Board represents a significant strategic milestone for the company, reflecting its growing influence within the automotive ecosystem and its close collaboration with OEM customers. As vehicles become increasingly software-defined, 5GAA plays a critical role in aligning automotive, mobile network and technology leaders around the standards and technologies required to support next-generation vehicle platforms and connected services.

As part of this appointment, Gerry McQuaid, a member of Cubic3’s management board and former Chief Commercial Officer, will represent Cubic3 on the 5GAA Board. Gerry McQuaid, Member of the Management Board at Cubic3:
“Joining the 5GAA Board marks an important step for Cubic3 and reflects our alignment with the world’s leading OEMs. As vehicles become software-defined, innovation must be shaped collaboratively across the industry. We are excited to extend our participation in 5GAA to active Board membership, collaborating with world-leading automakers, mobile network operators and technology companies, and contributing our expertise in scalable, automotive-grade connectivity and services to support the next phase of software-defined vehicle innovation.”

Christoph Voigt, 5GAA Chairman:
“We are very pleased to welcome Cubic3 to the 5GAA Board. As the automotive industry accelerates toward software-defined vehicles, global, reliable, and scalable connectivity is becoming a core vehicle capability. Cubic3 brings strong expertise in delivering automotive-grade connectivity solutions at scale, and its active participation at the Board level will further strengthen our cross-industry collaboration. Together with our members, we look forward to working with Cubic3 to advance the technologies and standards that will enable the next generation of connected mobility.”

5GAA brings together +100 member organisations across the automotive, technology, and telecommunications sectors, working together to develop end-to-end solutions for future mobility and transportation services. Created in September 2016, 5GAA has rapidly expanded to include key players, including automotive manufacturers, tier-1 suppliers, chipset/communication system providers, mobile operators and infrastructure vendors.

Cubic3’s participation at the board level reinforces its commitment to supporting automotive OEMs as they transition to software-defined vehicles, where connectivity, software platforms and scalable services are central to vehicle differentiation and long-term value creation. Through its role on the Board, Cubic3 will contribute its expertise in global connectivity, large-scale OEM deployments, and innovative connected software services to help guide the association’s strategic priorities.
