Cubic3 Appoints Shane Sorohan as CEO
8 January, 2026: Cubic3 today announced that Shane Sorohan, currently Chief Operating Officer (COO) and a key leader in the company’s global operations for over a decade, will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) advancing the company’s next of phase of growth and global expansion and embedding AI-led innovation at the heart of its strategy.
This appointment marks a natural progression for Cubic3, bringing forward a leader with deep knowledge of the company and extensive experience across its global operations. While current CEO Barry Napier will remain active on the company’s Board of Directors after a remarkable 17-year tenure, the move signals a shift towards scaling the company’s capabilities with a continued focus on strong execution and operational excellence.
A Pivotal Pillar of Success
Over the last 14 years, Sorohan has played an important role in Cubic3’s development as it expanded from an emerging innovator to a trusted global provider of software-defined vehicle connectivity. As COO, he supported the scaling of Cubic3’s operations, enabling the company to deliver connectivity to 27 million vehicles across more than 200 countries and territories. Sorohan has also been integral to several key strategic initiatives during this period, contributing to the company’s growth and global footprint.
Leadership for a New Phase of Growth
As Cubic3 moves into the next phase of its evolution, the Board believes Sorohan’s long experience with the company and his familiarity with its customers, partners, and teams position him well to guide the organisation forward.
“I’m honoured to take on the role of CEO at Cubic3,” said incoming CEO Shane Sorohan. “Having worked alongside Barry and the Cubic3 team for many years, I have a strong appreciation for the strengths of the organisation and the opportunities ahead. My focus will be on driving delivery excellence and ensuring the highest quality for our customers, while building on the strong foundation we’ve created as we continue to grow our global footprint and advance our AI-led connected services.”
Ensuring Continuity and Strength
Barry Napier, who will step down as CEO but remain active on the Board, fully endorsed the progression, citing Sorohan’s track record as the deciding factor.
“Shane has been a key part of Cubic3’s journey for more than a decade,” said outgoing CEO Barry Napier. “During his 14 years with the company, he has contributed across many areas – from operations and customer delivery to strategic initiatives and organisational development. He understands Cubic3’s customers, people and culture, and he has played an important role in helping the company scale to where it is today.”
“The Board and I have full confidence in Shane’s ability to guide Cubic3 into its next phase,” Napier continued. “He brings consistency, judgement and a strong understanding of what has made Cubic3 successful. With the support of a very capable leadership team and a solid foundation in place, Shane is well positioned to continue the progress we’ve made and to lead the company forward.”
Cubic3 enters 2026 from a position of exceptional strength, supported by a team of 450 employees across 19 countries. Under Sorohan’s leadership, Cubic3 will continue to advance its innovation roadmap and support customers across the global automotive, AI, and connectivity landscape.
